work family

I never thought I'd be someone who has a work family. You hear about jobs where people end up becoming pretty much like family. I definitely have that at Eden/JK (you'll hear me refer to work as JK or Eden... roll with it) cept I didn't realize that until... it broke up a little bit.

Right now I'm just trying to keep everyone together and utilize people that I know can encourage other people.

It's tough but family is family.

...And you should be jealous. OK I don't want anyone to be jealous but! if you were I wouldn't stop you. In fact, I COULDN'T stop you.

Every day the 14th!

Happy Valentine's Day :0) This Valentine's day I made COOKIES! specifically Red Velvet Black & WHITE cookies. They are delish. I think this will the last thing I make from a blog for now. I was halfway scorned for asking a question about the pizza dough to the original blogger? so I think I'm done for a bit until I find something else too awesome to pass up. (probably, like, tomorrow.)

I'd like to take a moment to explain the awesomeness of this cookie. As you very well know red velvet is the love child of chocolate and vanilla. Whenever I get a black and white cookie I eat both sides so no one feels neglected and I get the full effect. The combination of these two is pretty much mind boggling. Is your mind boggled? Would you like to play Boggle? It's my favorite game.

Isn't Facebook annoying on V-Day? It's like a war to see who will be the most bitter. Bitter about having a man and sick of the singles. Bitter about being single and sick of the paired up lovey-dovey fakes. It's nuts. I hope these pictures will administer love through your screen... or at least get you salivating and to Joy the Baker's website to MAKE THESE IMMEDIATELY. One last thing from me. If you REALLY need someone to do something for you on this day in particular... something is missing from your life and it's not a significant other.

if you don't know me by now

I believe God made me to be funny. I like making people smile. I think part of my purpose to make people smile. I'm a laugh doctor and I administer the best medicine.

I'm a hugger... I am, I'm totally a hugger. I tried not to be a hugger once? And it back fired, I ended up hugging myself. I'm totally a hugger.

I believe mashed potatoes and brownies have proven healing powers. It actually upsets me that more people don't like Spongebob Squarepants. I also wished more people owned trampolines, they are just great.

I think Chicago has hidden magical powers to make people happier and fall in love. Like it knows something we don't, an aged wisdom imparted silently on the masses that walk its streets daily.

These are my thoughts for now : )

Now that I'm all lemoned out from the whoopie pies (seriously. I can't take another sweet treat til at LEAST Sunday) I've decided I need something savory. I feel bad for only utilizing the annals of Joy the Baker's recipe index. There are so many food blogs out there. I gotta go explorin'! But just for these last TWO things I'll be using her wamazing (wonderfully-amazing) recipe index.

1. Red Velvet Black and White Cookies (we totes knew that already. I've only been talking about it since January LOL)

2. Pepperoni and Black Olive Pizza - I put on Al Green and I couldn't resist making this... now I've never made dough before... so I'll let you know how that one goes. I'm hoping something along the lines of, "ZOMG SUPERBLY AWESOME" but we shall see!

Stay. TUNED. No really stay tuned. Not just for the food (but if you're in it just for the food i totally understand.) Some awesome things are happening at the moment? Am I am PRAYING that it turns out. I mean it could turn into something so awesome I might die, come back to life, jump up and slap somebody in excitement. Watch out now! : )

Dear Joy the Baker,
Please forgive me for underestimating the size of the Lemon Whoopie Pies. You said they were large and I was expecting... an oversized cookie. This was more like a cookie the size of a large dinner plate. A 45 rpm vinyl record. A hat to cover the state of Rhode Island. I think if I split the cookie in half I could still feed my entire apartment complex. I will never doubt your recipe telling skills again.

Now... let's get down to the neety-grreeeety. (my sister will totally get that!)

see? I wasn't lying! It's like as big as Texas. 

I love that confectioner's sugar takes cream cheese and makes it into love. I also love that I'm baking more without ever having made it and it's turning out AWESOME!!! I would open a bakery. I think I already mentioned that though... Doesn't the last picture look like they're smiling with their mouths full? So cute right? Cookies can be cute... because they're also tasty. It makes sense in my head.

progression of a city

So I was introduced again to an AWESOME blog called Color Me Katie. She does a lot of paper art. She watches Spongebob. She works for Improv Everywhere. She has a flying cat. I'd like to be her B.F.F. for serious.

Because of her super papering abilities it inspired me to get all construction paper crafty myself. Currently the Chicago skyline is staring at me. I'm trying to decide if I want to add a sunset (as usual) or just change it when the weather changes. Wouldn't that be awesome? I also don't want my room to look junky so I'm gonna have to keep it super clean so I can dress the walls with funness.

 

Oh and just to let you know, the Sears tower is thinking about its love affair with wind. It just loves it. They are in love.
